Yo for all you diehard Toney Starks and sneaker connoisseurs out there this is the double whammy in honor of Def Jam;s 25th anniversary they are releasing sneakers for all there best artist . These shoes are coming in a Purple suede with a gold G on the side , The Wally Champs mug on the tongue and a gum sole bottom. I dub these the Purple Tapes .

For those that don't know when Cuban Linx first came out Raekwon had his tape come out in the color purple than the usual black tape so the consumer could distinguish his tape from the other shark biten ass rappers. See a drug dealer would have a different color vial from his competitors so the fiends would pick his over the others low grade shit. Also with Cuban Linx II coming in September more than likely the shoe is set to release to coincide with the album

Up this is when They Reminisce Over You Thursday celebrating the culture of sneaker collecting

and hip hop for all the older heads and the young ones who want to learn the history.

For all you old heads ( serious old heads like Bobbito and his crew ) who were balling in the 80s this release is a dream come true. In the book Where'd You Get Those Bobbito and his friends who I like to call only in jest the Salts they spoke of this shoe and many other New Balance shoes with such pride ,because New Balance running shoes were expensive at that time going for a 100 dollars .Which we all no in the hip hop community it doesn't matter how it looks as long as its expensive it is the ultimate status symbol hah. All New Balance shoes were considered official after James Worthy started wearing them ( hell he even had his name on the tongue of the 785s)not only were they a dope shoe they had great ankle support. For all you old timers who remember buying or boosting them you all can quit sighing about the golden days and finally get that pair no news yet on the release date but we will surely keep you posted.

The Growth

I have released in order for me to even make a foray into the sneaker culture I need to have respect for the platform I have luckily been allowed to use to voice my opinion on sneaker culture and drop information. For me K-Life is important their will be daily updates on sneakers and other things that are related to hip hop and Fighting games. The reason why I added the latter is I have been a serious fighting game fan hell I learned how to do the shoryuken before I could read Lol LOl lol so hey everybody make way for the Homo Superior ( pause indefinitely ).
